One-on-One Support That Starts Where You Are

Live, one-on-one coaching for students, parents, and educators who want personalised support — to identify the gaps, rebuild confidence, and develop a healthier relationship with mathematics.

Math challenges look different depending on where you're standing.

For a student, it's the dread of being called on in class, the creeping sense that everyone else understands something you don't, the feeling that you're always one step behind.

For a parent, it's the frustration of watching your child struggle and not knowing how to help, or making things worse when you try.

For an educator, it's knowing some of your students are falling behind and not having the tools or time to reach them the way you'd like.

Whatever your situation, coaching starts in the same place: figuring out where the challenges actually begin. Not where it shows up, where it starts. From there, we work on building a plan that works for you.

A Math Coach Is More Than Just a Tutor.

I work as a Math Coach, which means it's not about getting the right answers. It's about unpacking past learning experiences, identifying where understanding broke down, and rebuilding from there, without fear or pressure.

Every coaching engagement is different, but here's what you can expect:

A Calm, Encouraging Environment Where Mistakes Are Part of the Process — There's no judgment here. The goal is understanding, not performance.

Support That Goes Beyond the Math Itself — We work on mindset, language, and the habits of thinking that make mathematics feel manageable — or not.

A Plan That Fits Your Life — Whether you need a one-time session to clarify a concept, or ongoing support over several weeks, we'll figure out what makes sense for you.

The Tools to Keep Going Independently — Coaching isn't about dependence. It's about giving you, or your student, what you need to move forward on your own.

"I had the pleasure and good luck to hire Mr. David to lead our math program as I began my new school, The Cole Academy. Mr. David fit the mold perfectly. He dove right into the role and developed a unique, exciting, and interactive program. Suddenly, I would hear students talking about how much fun math was. In all my years of teaching and as principal, I had never heard a student body, as a whole, say such things. Starting with the fundamentals, Mr. David was able to assist many students in surpassing grade level and become fully prepared for their following year. He connected with students, meeting them where they were at. He is intuitive, empathic, and committed to combatting the fear of math that too many students experience. His classes are academic AND fun, making for a lot of laughter and also a lot of learning. I can't recommend Mr. David's teaching approach enough."

"David was a core teacher for both our sons over three school years. We have boundless respect and admiration for his dedication to the craft of teaching, and commitment to his students. There are good teachers and there are great teachers, and David is certainly the latter. We found David to be unsurpassed as an academic professional, with superior teaching skills, crucial experience, and excellent leadership abilities. He made substantial positive impacts on our kids, and I would not hesitate to recommend him for any senior teaching role in the GTA."

"David is an exceptional teacher, and more importantly, he is a fabulous human. His deep understanding of the importance of personal connections with learners ensures he always leads from the heart. This is so crucial in learners feeling safe to engage in learning that is challenging for them. David also creates personal access points for learners by using a variety of approaches in his instructional design. He can easily support other educators with their learning and adapt for the variety of ways learners approach new learning. I hired David as a lead math teacher and would highly recommend him."
