Math That Makes Sense with Meaningful Online Lessons & Teaching Resources

Math that engages. Support that inspires.

You're Not "Bad" at Math. You Just Haven't Been Taught it the Right Way.

Whether you're a student who feels behind, a parent watching your child struggle, or a teacher looking for a better way — you're in the right place. I help people of all ages finally understand mathematics and build a confident, lasting relationship with it.

Math makes sense when understanding comes first.

You're smarter than you think.

Most people who struggle with math aren't struggling because they can't do it. They're struggling because at some point, the curriculum moved on before they were ready.

When learning is organized by grade level, rather than by concept, gaps are inevitable. New ideas get introduced before the previous ones are truly understood, and those gaps quietly compound year after year. The student who falls behind in one grade carries that uncertainty into the next — and the next — until math stops feeling like something they can learn and starts feeling like something they just aren't good at.

That story isn't true. But without the right support, it's very easy to believe.

Hi, I’m Mr. David!

I'm a passionate mathematics educator based in Toronto, Ontario. My mission is to help people connect with numbers in ways that are engaging, visual, and leave a lasting impression.

Over the past 20+ years, I've helped thousands of students, parents, and teachers shift their perspectives about mathematics. Through puzzles, games, and a little humour, I try to show the lighter, more playful side of math — because when learning feels human, it sticks.

Whether you're here to support your child, boost your own skills, or bring fresh energy to your classroom, you're in the right place. Let's take the fear out of math and bring the humanity back in.

The Concept-First Approach

1. Identify the Gaps

Math struggles almost always trace back to a specific point where understanding broke down. Together we find where that is — no judgment, no pressure.

2. Build from the Ground Up

Through concept-focused courses, resources, and coaching, we go back to where understanding stopped and build forward from there — at your own pace.

3. Develop a New Relationship with Math

When the foundations are solid, everything changes. Math stops being something to fear and starts being something that makes sense.

What People Have Said About My Teaching

Frank Leblanc (Heavy Duty Mechanic)

2006 Graduate from Howe Sound Secondary School

I always enjoyed math class with you — you made it entertaining and easy to follow. After a semester with you, something clicked. It opened my eyes to how much our world revolves around math and how it really is a universal language. To this day, I still use what I learned in your class. I'll always look back on it as one of my favourites. Thank you for helping this C average student find a subject he would truly become passionate about.

Jack Dueck

Grade 6–7 Student, The Cole Academy

"Mr. David was my teacher at the Cole Academy for 2 years. He is an inspiring math teacher. We played math inspired games in free time and he was really good at showing why math matters so much in the real world. He made math fun! He also prepared me really well — I switched schools in Grade 8 and discovered that I was actually ahead of my peers because of the great teaching I got from Mr. David."
